A former federal prosecutor and an experienced litigator, Tom represents businesses, not-for-profit entities and individuals in civil litigation matters and government investigations.
Tom is a graduate of Union College (B.A., magna cum laude, 1992) and Harvard Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1995).
Prior to joining Tabner, Ryan and Keniry, Tom worked in New York City. He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York. As a member of that office’s Business and Securities Fraud Section, he prosecuted securities fraud, tax evasion, health care fraud, insurance fraud and other white-collar criminal cases. Tom also worked in private practice, where he represented entities and individuals in criminal and regulatory enforcement investigations and civil litigation matters.
Tom has extensive civil litigation experience in a wide range of commercial matters, including breach of contract actions, as well as employment, partnership, securities and real estate disputes. He has also represented large and small corporations, not-for-profit entities and individuals in federal and state criminal and regulatory investigations.
Tom also has significant experience conducting internal investigations for large and small entities, including publicly-traded and private companies and not-for-profit entities. His experience includes investigations prompted by government subpoenas, regulatory examinations, whistleblower complaints, inquiries from internal and external auditors and due diligence inquiries.
